England’s Highest Care Accolade for Home Instead Greenwich & Bexley
We are pleased to announce that Home Instead - Greenwich & Bexley has been awarded the highest possible outstanding rating by inspectors from England’s care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It is particularly special for us because we are the first and the only homecare provider to achieve this coveted outstanding rating in Greenwich and Bexley boroughs - we have been described as the ‘Rolls Royce of care’.
We now have joined an elite group of care companies with only three per cent of home care providers achieving an outstanding rating. In addition to this outstanding rating, the we recently received Royal recognition from the Queen in November 2018 and received a letter from the Queen praising the service’s efforts and the ‘commendable contribution’ they made in local communities.
During the inspection the CQC’s inspectors spoke to clients, CAREGivers and our key players as well as local healthcare professionals who we work with. They concluded that we were ‘outstanding in empowering people to have as much control over their lives as possible and to achieve their maximum potential.’
Inspectors reported that our leadership was ‘exceptional and distinctive.’ They commented that all management and staff ‘demonstrated compassion and a real empathy in their commitment to providing meaningful, person-centred, high-quality care by engaging with everyone using the service.’
The report documented many heart-warming stories about how we continually made arrangements for social activities and using community links and resources to meet people’s needs in order for clients to live as full a life as possible.
One relative told the inspector, “The caregivers are fantastic, caring, professional, reliable, hygienic, and talk to my relative like she is their own mother and makes her feel safe at home.”
Caregivers spoke highly about the management and said they ‘felt listened to, appreciated, motivated and supported in their role.’ One client said, “The service provided is excellent. My caregiver goes the extra mile to make a positive difference in my life.”
Speaking about the outstanding rating, Fatta said, “Sonia and I are delighted with the outcome of our most recent inspection. “This is only possible thanks to our superb team who are totally dedicated to providing the best care services to our elderly clients and their families. Our clients are the most important people in the world to us and we will continue strive to provide the best service we possibly can.”
Sonia and Fatta Thapa have also just recently attended The Queens Garden Tea Party hosted by The Queen at the Buckingham palace. They were invited to the garden party due to the success of their charity, Skills & Care Greenwich, which supports older and disadvantaged people in the community.
Part of a national network of 200 offices, Home Instead is firmly established as the leading home care provider for the elderly. The company’s innovative care model achieved national recognition in 2016 when it received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
