We provide homecare to over 100 older people in the community and have seen a simple fall having a detrimental effect on someone’s life, especially on older people lives. There are various reasons why older adults become more at risk for falls, this could be due to medications, injury, balance issues, and even vision problems. Falls are risky because older adults are more prone to broken bones and serious head injuries. Many older adults live in fear of falling because of the damage it causes. Fortunately, preventing falls is not difficult. There are many precautions you can take to reduce the risk and even prevent fall in older adults and here are a few of them.

08 March 2021, International Women’s Day 2021 celebrated at Home Instead Greenwich & Bexley by honoring Revd Margaret Mabbs. In 2019 Margaret celebrated 25 years of Women's Ordination to the Priesthood with special attention from Archbishop of Canterbury, as the previous day was her 95th birthday. On tenth century of the Church of England’s Introduction of ordination of woman, Michela Drew asked Revd. Mabbs “how much the church as changed since then, about their fight to be bishops, and wonders: Will a woman ever be Archbishop of Canterbury?”

Honing CAREGivers’ Cooking Skills

15 July 2020, Home Instead - Greenwich & Bexley has started live cooking sessions for CAREGiver to boost their cooking skills, competency and confidence so that they can support their clients with nutritional needs. Home Instead has always been aware of the immensely important part that food plays in older people's lives, and how providing nutritious, well presented meals are a core aspect of caring. In 2017 Home Instead, conducted a research that shows – the most important considerations for thinking about care and support was nutrition.
