Launch of specialist City and Guilds accredited dementia training

Home Instead Fareham and Gosport is pleased to announce we have launched our specialist dementia training accredited with City and Guilds for our CAREGiver team with the aim of training all staff by the end of 2017.

The training is classroom based and gives our caregiver team the  practical skills to provide the best care for our clients living with dementia and to provide support to families who are sharing the journey of those living with the condition.

The training and course content is based on research from international experts in supporting people living with dementia and their families and loved ones. The accreditation from City and Guilds assures both the relevancy of the content for care professionals and the rigour of delivery to meet certification standards.

Director of Home Instead Fareham and Gosport, John James, said:

"The majority of our clients are people living with dementia and we this training is critical to being able to offer the best possible support to those clients by a team with appropriate professional training. We want to be local provider of choice for people seeking care and support for a loved one living with dementia and this training is one element in our plan to meet that aim".

Plans to deliver the training, in a modified format, to families and other unpaid carers are being finalised and the first public sessions are due to roll out in May.
