During National Dementia Awareness Week in May we will be running free Dementia Awareness Workshops. They are for friends and families of those with dementia, and for those working in the community to support those with dementia.
The free Workshop will take place on Thursday 22nd May from 1-5pm at our office on the High Street in Epping.
The Workshop will cover how to:
• Recognise Alzheimer’s and Other dementias
• Manage Challenging Behaviours
• Capture and Share Life’s Journey
• Encourage Engagement
• Care for Yourself While Caring for a Loved One
Anyone attending the free workshops will benefit from our experience of running specialist dementia training for our CAREGivers. The training Home Instead gives its CAREGivers is fully certified by City & Guilds, and is unique in the UK.
The preferred environment for those with memory loss is generally at home and yet families caring for loved ones with dementia have to deal with unusual and challenging behaviour such as repetitiveness, anger, frustration, and forgetting to eat properly or take medication.
We appreciate how difficult it is to be faced with these behavioural challenges and not know the best way to recognise the signs, and to then avoid or manage a difficult or challenging situation.
If you would like to book places for a Workshop for yourself or any of your family members please contact Victoria on 01992 666777 or email [email protected] for more details.
The services provided by Home Instead are a valuable, trusted solution to help your loved one maintain a regular routine, enhancing his or her quality of life.
