How to age well

Growing old can bring challenges, both for the person who’s ageing and for their family. It can be frustrating for our loved ones because they can’t do everything they used to and feel like they’re losing their independence. At the same time, it might be worrying for their family as they might not be able to be there whenever their loved ones need them.

Building new relationships

Building new relationships

One of the key roles for our CAREGIVERS is building relationships and finding common interests is a key part of this. Jo, who has been a CAREGIVER with us for just over two months, is building a beautiful relationship with Mrs T, whom she visits 4 to 5 times per week. Their love of cooking has brought them closer together, with Mrs T sharing lots of her cooking tips with Jo. One visit was spent discussing how to bake a cake, Jo was so inspired that when she got home she baked the cake.... Mrs T was thrilled when Jo showed her the photo and they have vowed to bake together as soon as social distancing allows! I am sure you will agree the cake looks delicious! Well done Jo! #bakingtogether #buildingrelationships
