Home Instead at Buckingham Palace Garden Party

Members of Home Instead team invited to Buckingham Palace Garden Party
Celebrating dedication to care and the power of community
Colleagues from across Home Instead have been recognised for their exceptional contributions to the care sector with an invitation to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party. We’re delighted to see them recognised for the compassion, leadership and innovation that epitomises Home Instead’s care.
A proud moment for leadership in care
Tracey Ferguson, Operations Manager at Home Instead Bedford, was invited to the Garden Party after being nominated by Skills for Care in recognition of her contribution to the sector.
After 25 years working in care, Tracey described the experience as a truly humbling moment, reflecting not only her own journey but the work of those she supports and leads.
Care has always been more than a career for Tracey. Alongside leading her own team, she has spent years supporting other care managers, sharing knowledge and contributing to wider discussions focused on improving care delivery. Her commitment to raising standards and championing person-centred care has made a lasting impact, both within Home Instead and across the sector.
Speaking about the recognition, Tracey said, “This is not just about me. It reflects the dedication of all those working in care, every single day.”
She was joined at the event by owner of Home Instead Bedford, Moona Karim, whose support has played a significant role in Tracey’s journey. Reflecting on her time in the sector, Tracey spoke about how finding Home Instead seven years ago gave her the opportunity to truly put into practice everything she believes great care should look like.
Recognising innovation and community impact
Also in attendance was Cindy Neale, a Care Professional from Home Instead Warwick, whose work using music to support people living with dementia has transformed lives within her local community.
Cindy was nominated by the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, recognising her efforts in organising dementia friendly piano concerts. Held twice a month in a family home in Kenilworth, these intimate gatherings provide a welcoming and relaxed environment where people living with dementia, along with their families, can connect through music.
The concerts, organised by Cindy and supported by local volunteers, offer something different from traditional events. By creating a smaller and more personal setting, they help reduce anxiety and allow attendees to feel comfortable and engaged.
Music spans across the generations at each event, with performances including favourites from The Beatles, Elvis Presley and ABBA. For many, these familiar songs unlock precious memories and emotions that might otherwise feel out of reach.
Families have seen first-hand the difference these moments can make. Even for those in later stages of dementia, music can spark recognition, connection and joy.
Cindy’s work reflects a deep understanding that living with dementia can still be a life filled with joy, fulfilment and connection, particularly when care is tailored to the individual.

Celebrating the people behind great care
The Garden Party brought together people from across the UK who are making a difference in their communities. For Home Instead, it was an opportunity to celebrate the people who bring its values to life every day.
Both Tracey and Cindy represent what makes home care so special. It is not just the quality of care provided, but the relationships, compassion and creativity that underpin it.
Their recognition highlights the breadth of impact within the sector, from leadership and workforce development to innovative, community led initiatives that improve quality of life for older people and those living with complex conditions.
At Home Instead, we believe that great care is built on connection, empathy and a commitment to always do better. Seeing colleagues recognised at a national level is a powerful reminder of the difference that dedication and passion can make, not only to individual lives, but to the future of care as a whole.
