Colleagues, franchise owners, suppliers and partners from across the Home Instead network came together earlier this month for the annual Home Instead Golf Day, raising an impressive £8,345 for Home Instead Charities UK.

Home Instead Charities UK supports projects that tackle loneliness and social isolation, helping older adults stay connected to their communities while bringing greater joy, connection and wellbeing as they age.

Held on Friday 5 June at The Oxfordshire Golf, Hotel & Spa, the event brought together golfers from across the network for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.

This year’s event adopted a Texas Scramble format, encouraging teamwork and collaboration throughout the day while creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere on the course.

Ruth Brown, Managing Director of Home Instead UK, said, “One of the things I value most about Home Instead is the strength of the community we’ve built across our network.

“Bringing together franchise owners, colleagues, suppliers and partners for our annual Golf Day is always a highlight of the year. Beyond the fundraising, it’s an opportunity to connect with people who care deeply about supporting older adults and strengthening the communities we serve.

“I’d like to thank everyone who took part and helped make this year’s event such a success. Their support will help continue making a meaningful difference to people’s lives across the UK.”

Penny Hamer, Executive Director of Home Instead Charities UK, added, “Raising £8,345 is a fantastic achievement and will make a meaningful difference to the communities and projects we support.

“We know that connection and companionship can have a profound impact on wellbeing, and these funds will help us continue supporting initiatives that bring people together and reduce social isolation.

“Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success.”

Supporting local communities

The £8,345 raised through the event will help fund community initiatives that support wellbeing, social connection and opportunities for people to remain active and engaged within their local communities.

Throughout the year, Home Instead franchise offices across the UK organise a wide range of successful and creative fundraising activities in support of Home Instead Charities UK, from community events and sponsored challenges to local initiatives designed to bring people together and raise awareness of the charity’s work.

The annual Golf Day is one of the charity’s flagship fundraising events and demonstrates the collective impact that can be achieved when colleagues, franchisees, suppliers and partners unite behind a shared purpose.

Alongside the main competition, participants took part in a range of challenges throughout the day, including longest drive, nearest the pin and a new “Nearest the Gin” competition.

Home Instead would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including sponsors DJH Accounting, Recognition Express and Maddy Alemeyahu from the Hammersmith office, as well as Justin Williams for developing the event app and the volunteers who helped the day run smoothly.

The event once again highlighted the strength of the Home Instead network and its shared commitment to supporting local communities.
