Christmas gift-giving scheme called Be a Santa

For the past ten years, Home Instead Senior care East Herts & Uttlesford have orchestrated a Christmas gift-giving scheme called Be a Santa to a Senior.

It involves asking local businesses, schools, and people in the community to come together and make a difference to a senior's wellbeing by buying a little gift.

It is hard to imagine but some people have little or no family and unlikely to receive much of anything at all during the festive season. The guidelines for buying that little gift is based on something a senior would like E.g. Pair of gloves, a scarf, a box of chocolate, biscuits, toiletries, jigsaw. Not expensive presents at all and no alcohol, sharp objects, or anything that could cause harm if misused. e.g. room fragrance diffuser.

It would be great if the gift is wrapped and had a label stating whether the gift is for a female, male, or unisex.

Could any of you help support this worthy cause? Do you know of any organisation that would support Be a Santa?

The more we collect the more seniors we can reach.

We want to start our Be a Santa now to make maximum impact.

We will let you all know where you can drop off your gift and we can pick up from you if the need arises.

Our Be a Santa Facebook page will be up and running in the next couple of days.

Please like it and look at Christmases past. This year Covid19 means there are a lot more isolated and lonely people and we are determined to put a smile on as many faces as possible.

Thank you in advance, we are so appreciative and we couldn’t do this on our own.
