"Thank you for all your help, love and support over the last 4 years which has allowed Mum to remain in her home which she loved and lived in for over 61 years. I am so thankful that she was there until the week before she died. The love, care and attention she received from everyone at Home Instead was exceptional and she was so grateful to you all. Whilst we will all miss her, we should celebrate her long and happy life." ’’

How to age well

Growing old can bring challenges, both for the person who’s ageing and for their family. It can be frustrating for our loved ones because they can’t do everything they used to and feel like they’re losing their independence. At the same time, it might be worrying for their family as they might not be able to be there whenever their loved ones need them.

Running a Home Care Company during a Pandemic

As we begin 2021, I have been reflecting on the past 10 months, and can’t quite believe the changes in the world, and in our life as we knew it. In November 2019 we had just been awarded a rating of Outstanding by the CQC in 4 of the 5 areas they inspect. We were all happy and excited and full of plans for growth, development and innovation in 2020.

Little Lexi Raises Money For Bring Joy!

The community spirit here at Dudley is so infectious, that while Marie our Care Manager, was talking with her family, her young niece Lexi, decided she wanted to help too. Incredibly with the support and guidance from Marie and Becky, our Admin Assistant, Lexi has raised over a whopping £300. Lexi, a pupil at Priory Primary in Dudley, heard how important it is to help elderly people in our community, who have had such a difficult and isolated year. She understands how important it is to live well as people become older. Lexi decided she would like to make some affordable Christmas crafts and gifts, that could be sold to Home Instead CAREGivers, family and friends. Hot chocolate reindeers, button Christmas Trees, personalised Christmas decorations, chocolate bombs and chocolate lollipops have been made and put up for sale. To date, Lexi has raised £288 towards the Home Instead ‘Bring Joy Charity’. When Lexi’s school heard about the wonderful work she was doing, she was invited

Cupcake Fundraiser at Home Instead Dudley!

Home Instead Dudley's delicious cupcakes raises over £700 for vulnerable seniors this winter. Last month, Bring Joy, The Home Instead Charity, launched Challenge 500, a project where Home Instead Franchises were asked to raise £500 between now and the end of January to support vulnerable seniors in their areas. Here at Home Instead Dudley we got off to a cracking start and have already exceeded this target! And are still going! Susan Love, Dudley's Director of Community Engagement, managed to emerge from a cloud of self-raising flour for just long enough to tell us how you can do it too: "I pledged to bake £500 cupcakes, and sell them for a pound each. I have been dropping them off safely. Our CAREGivers have overwhelmed me with their generosity in the purchasing of cakes. By regularly sharing on our social media, we have also had donations from local community partner agencies, community groups, lots of people are happy to donate online and don't even want the cupcakes! The website showed care throughout, which is something that is very close to my own beliefs and thoughts. 2.What do you enjoy most about being a CAREGiver? I love meeting the incredible people within Home Instead, including the Home Instead team and Clients. I love the fulfilment of knowing I have made a difference to someone’s life. 3.How is Home Instead different from other employers you have had? The amount and quality of care delivered to Clients is equalled by the care shown to us as CAREGivers. 4. What has been your hardest moment? When a Client who I care for passed away. 5. How would you describe Home Instead to someone looking for care for a loved one, or someone thinking of joining our team? I would explain that their family member would be shown respect and cared for wi
