Job Description

The Care Supervisor performs a variety of administrative and care duties. The Care Supervisor is expected to answer telephone calls, complete administrative duties, provide care for Clients as required and support the Care Support Team with a variety of tasks to provide the highest quality service to Clients.

The Role

  • Support Care Professional’s in their day-to-day role
  • Provide quality introductions of Care Professionals to Clients
  • Support with medication, medication reviews and medication competencies.
  • Provide care for Clients as required
  • Provide support to the Care Director and the Care Support Team in all aspects of the business
  • Completion of Care Plans and risk assessments from given changes, checking systems for compliance, and updating information within systems
  • Being part of the On-Call Rota
  • Answer telephones calls in a polite professional manner, passing on clear messages and actioning messages where appropriate. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all Key Players, Care Professionals, Clients, Client families and any other Home Instead contacts
  • Have a thorough understanding of and belief in the Home Instead business model
  • Maintain and uphold company standards and ethos
  • Ensure compliance with Home Instead’s Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities Policy, in respect of employment and service delivery.

Person Specification 

  • Warm, friendly, cheerful personality who enjoys speaking to people.
  • Able to demonstrate dedication and ownership to complete allocated work tasks
  • Resilience to cope with busy weekends as part of a rota system
  • Ability and confidence to cover a wide variety of Client visits if short notice cover is required
  • Flexibility to work amended times if required due to business need
  • Good clear telephone manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to cope with a fast-changing environment
  • Keen to learn new skills and progress career
  • Self-driven and committed to completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Goal Orientated
  • Ability to handle demanding situations or personalities in a professional caring manner.
  • Smart, professional appearance 
  • Willing to progress towards completing Level 3 and potentially Level 5 Health and Social Care Qualifications in the future
Additional Information
  • Must have clear DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Driving licence and use of a car on a daily basis
  • Must have good understanding of Microsoft office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Must be confident to use a variety of technology
  • Must understand the importance of confidentiality and working within current legislation.
  • Must be a team player

The Care Supervisor works 5 out of 7 days on a rota system which will include some weekend and evening work.

Salary: £21,000 per annum plus additional on call payment
