Companionship Care from Home Instead is changing lives!

Loneliness can have serious effects on a person’s health and Home Instead Calderdale aims to prevent social isolation by providing Companionship Care at home.

Regular companionship helps keep family members active and engaged.

A companion is someone who visits every week to provide friendship and support. The Companionship Care service is available to older people or those with a physical or mental health disability and can help them regain an interest in a favourite hobby or pastime, reducing the impact of loneliness and providing much-needed respite to family.

All our companions are carefully matched to the person, DBS checked and have their own transport including appropriate insurance.

It is ideal for those in receipt of the Attendance Allowance, Direct Payments or Self-Funders and this is what Jazz Johal, Social Prescriber had to say about it:

“Over the many years of working in Health & Social Care, it has become more apparent that traditional services are not always fitting or suitable. We have many different individuals, with different interests and contributions to make of their own. that we need to look into. This is where Home Instead have got the formula right! Providing choice and control to individuals on how their social isolation is reduced”

The Home Instead Companionship Care service can be booked for just two or three hours each week and is available in Halifax, Huddersfield, Brighouse, Hebden Bridge,Todmorden and Cleckheaton areas.
