Hello, I'm Sati, the Director of Home Instead Senior Care in Calderdale. I was born and brought up West Yorkshire and live in Calderdale with my husband and two young children and I wouldn't have it any other way! I think there’s something special about Yorkshire folk and it’s my pleasure and privilege to spent most of my time speaking to you about how my team and I can support you in any way we can.

 I graduated with a specialism in social care and I am very passionate about bringing the best quality care to the community I serve.  In my role I am accountable for ensuring that we exceed your expectations of our service each and every time. I also travel the length and breadth of Calderdale and Spen Valley engaging with community and voluntary organisations, charities, local businesses and local people to look for ways in which Home Instead can contribute to the community.

Hello, I’m Karl, the Operations Manager (Registered Manager) of Home Instead Senior Care, Calderdale. I joined the team on 31 July 2017 so as I write this I’m still very new to the company and the team of people here at Calderdale. I can honestly say that the welcome and support I have received is exceptional, I genuinely feel part of the team already..

I have worked within the social care sector since 1994, initially within local authority, social services up until taking voluntary redundancy in 2011. I consider that I was ‘trained’ by the local authority, having gained my Registered Managers Award, Prince 2 and Post-Graduate in Management with them.

Since this time, I have worked within the private sector, holding a number of senior positions in domiciliary, residential, day care and extra care settings. Some of these experiences have been extremely positive but unfortunately, some have not. The less positive experiences are what has brought me to Home Instead, particularly, Home Instead Calderdale. The value base of my colleagues here really made the choice of accepting the offer of employment so easy for me!

I will work tirelessly on improving the customer experience of all people that come into contact with us here and welcome any comments, concerns or complaints so that we can achieve an outstanding rating alongside becoming the provider of choice within Calderdale and its outlying districts.

Donna Mortimer - Head of Client Services

Hey , I'm Donna and I'm Head of client services.My role is to ensure all our clients are cared and supported to live as independent as possible in their own homes.

I am absolutely dedicated to providing a high standard of care to the elderly and the most vulnerable people of our society ,to enable them to spend that time in their own home without the fear of them having to leave.

This is one of the main things about the company's ethos that I love. That in this day and age we can completely provide quality 24 hour care in the clients own home.

I believe in care being fully person centred around the individual,we should be caring for them in a personal way that they can build up trust and rapport with the caregivers making them feel comfortable and less vulnerable.

I've worked in the care sector for over 12 years starting from being a support worker to adults with learning difficulties and moving through to domiciliary care, residential homes and dementia care.

I am a fully qualified assessor and hold various teaching qualifications where I taught and assessed health and social care to carers and management. 

A little personal info; I'm mum to 2 beautiful girls 20 & 18 and a complete family orientated person. I love eating out and enjoying time with friends.

My favorite day is a lazy Sunday at home cooking for my family.

I love animals and have 4 dog's and an African Grey parrot who never shuts up !!

Hello I’m Nicola Rawlins I’ve been with home instead since September as a care co-ordinator.

I have always been interested in helping others and have a caring nature.

Since leaving school I studied in childcare and I’m a qualified nursery nurse. I enjoyed this for a few years and then was ready for a change.

It was then I became a caregiver for a home care company. I worked my way up from carer to team leader. I have background history in domiciliary care and in residential/dementia care homes.

I thoroughly enjoy my job and knowing that i could be making even the smallest change in someone’s life makes my job worthwhile.

My hobbies include walking my dog in the country side and exploring new places. I am very family orientated and spend my days off with my partner and my family.

Hi my name is Rebecca, and I have recently taken up the recruiter role at the Calderdale office. I used to work for a voluntary service that provided support for the over 55s to remain independent. This is what has drawn me to this role for Home Instead Senior Care. I love being involved with people on their CAREgiver journey from the moment we first speak on the phone to when they are handed their first rota.

I have lived in Huddersfield until I went down to Nottingham to attend university where I studied Psychology with Criminology. When I finished university, I moved back to Elland where I have lived for the last year.

From the moment, I joined the team I have been made to feel welcome and it honestly feels like I have always worked here!

I love what Home Instead represents and the values that we hold and I’m very excited about my new role here.

Hi, My name is Liz.

I have recently joined the team at Home Instead in Elland as the Recruitment Administrator.

I am mainly in charge of interviewing and bringing on board new CAREGivers. 

My background is in Recruitment, I have worked for various recruitment agencies over the last 8 years, these include The Travail Employment Group and Quantica Technology.

I have also worked for People Plus formerly A4E, one of the country’s leading providers of the Work Programme.

I am a friendly, polite and enthusiastic person who enjoys dealing with people, I enjoy working with people who are passionate about their work.

What I find most rewarding about working in recruitment is making a positive difference to people’s lives.

I have lived in Elland all my life and hope to see some familiar faces, as well as meeting new ones.

I currently live with my partner and our little dog, who I enjoy spending most of my time with.

When I do get a spare moment, I enjoy spending time with my family and keeping fit by going on long walks with our dog.

Hi my name is Sharon and I am Halifax born and bred. I worked in banking for 19 years with the final 12 years in the IT Division after which I felt the need to work with people rather than machines. 

I returned to education and gained a Degree in Health and Social Care. I worked for several years as a support worker both in the community and in a women’s refuge before taking the position of Administrator at Home Instead Senior Care.

I am enjoying the challenges the role presents and look forward to my future at the organisation. 

 

Annette Nuttall - Trainer

Annette Nuttall - Trainer

Hi, I’m Annette Nuttall and I am the company's trainer which means I deliver the learning and development programme that transforms our wonderful new recruits into exceptional CAREGivers. I am also responsible for the delivery of the Care Certificate for all of our staff and additionally more specialised training such as End of Life, Pressure Area Care, Dementia etc.

I have been working in the care field for 20 years.  I started working as a laundry assistant in a care home in Co Durham, which is where I’m from originally.  I loved the idea of supporting older people, and gradually worked my way up to managing a small Home care company.  I then changed direction slightly, and became an assessor in Health and Social Care.  I have worked in this field for 14 years, loving every minute of it, and meeting some wonderful people along the way. I love Yorkshire.  I’m sure I was always meant to live here!

I’m now thrilled to be given the opportunity to work as trainer at our Home Instead, Calderdale branch.  I’m looking forward to working alongside everyone here.

I have 5 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren.  I love walking and needlework (and getting out and about with my hubby on our motorbike when time allows).

Hi! My Name is Jen, I was born and raised in Hebden Bridge. I am fresh out of sixth form and I’ve always wanted to get stuck into a career and really start the adventures of work. After deciding University wasn’t for me I began the search for a job within the care sector, something which is a passion of mine and an incredibly rewarding role. Before I knew it I was joining the Home Instead team as a CAREGiver, loving every minute of it. One day the opportunity came up to take a role within the office as an Administrative Assistant and working alongside the team who work behind the scenes! I eventually developed into the role of full time Administrator.

The work that goes on in the office in order to deliver the standard of care that Home Instead does is astounding! Each member of the team is welcoming and hardworking, they make it so easy to fit in and make you feel like family from day one!

I love working with people and Home Instead is most certainly people oriented, everything any member of the team does throughout the day is for someone else. This generosity is something that is extended whether it be a client or a CAREGiver and it is wonderful to see such hard work for the benefit of others.

It’s safe to say I am looking forward to progressing further within the company and I’m incredibly excited for my future here.

Hi, I’m Sheridan.

After being a driver for 10 years I had a stroke at the tender age of 38!! With the help of my family & friends, I got through it.

Due to my condition, I was unable to get my license back and decided I wanted to go into care, to help & empathize with people who had been through the same or similar. I’ve now worked in care for 8 years. I joined Home Instead in December 2016 to do the job I love, caring, it's been great so far!

I am now a Senior CAREgiver & Coordinator for the Brighouse area. I look forward to my future within the team and am eager to help in any and every way possible.

Hi, I have been working for Home Instead now for just over one year, first as a caregiver now as a senior alongside Sheridan and Amanda.

Since July I have had the privilege of meeting new clients and caregivers which I have really enjoyed.

I hope to meet more of you and put faces to the names that I hear great things about.

It has been a great blessing and reassurance to have found Rita and her team. Since working together last September so many issues have been highlighted and speedily and efficiently resolved for my parents. The commitment of Rita and her team is beyond question and on many occasions has exceeded my expectations. My parents are also very happy and treat their carers as members of the family. My mother is reassured and my father can enjoy his reminiscing. I feel I have someone else who shares the worries I have and shoulders the responsibility with me and this has reduced my stress considerably.
