Being a CAREGiver
I have been with Home Instead for over a year now, I had moved from another home care company. Before this I was an Area Manager for KFC. I was fed up making money for corporate businesses and decided to give it up to do something fulfilling.
I don't class this job as care. I see it more as visiting friends. Caring is an extension of yourself. No two calls are the same even when it's the same client. You have to adapt to each individual and also be there for their families, caring for the whole unit. I can never see myself ever doing anything else. I think caring is the most selfless thing we can do because the carer doesn't come into the equation when we're with the client.
All of the carers that have visited mum have been super. They get on well with her and I know they brighten her day. As I live some way away I am so happy and confident with the care she receives.V.C
