CQC rates our responsiveness Outstanding!

We are delighted that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has recognised Home Instead Brighton, Hove & Shoreham as Outstanding in its standard for Responsive. The latest inspection report also rates all other standards as Good. This means that the overall CQC rating for our service is Good.

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, making sure that services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encouraging care services to improve.

The full CQC inspection report is available at here and covers how well we are delivering our service against standards for being: Safe, Caring, Effective, Well-led and Responsive. The inspection was carried out with just 48 hours notice, and gives a thorough summary of how Home Instead Brighton, Hove & Shoreham operates.

The CQC summary described the staff as “excellent”, with our Clients being “encouraged to live as dignified and as independently as possible”. It also says that our “culture…..put people at the heart of the service delivery and the team demonstrated a strong person-centred ethos”. Other highlights include:

· Staff have an excellent rapport with people and in-depth appreciation of people’s needs.
· Staff are very responsive to people’s care and support needs - considering their life history and interests.
· Staff have an appreciation of people’s abilities.
· Staff encourage people to participate in social events and outings so people could be an active part of the local community.

Commenting on the rating, Director and Registered Manager Liz Brackley said:

“We are very proud of our amazing team of CAREGivers and the central office support team. We are also delighted that the CQC recognise the great work we all do, providing excellent care and support for older people living at home.”
