I have been meaning to write to you as I know you are aware of the traumatic events that happened to us a couple of weeks ago, actually Friday 13th when Mr P went walkabouts.
I was doing some jobs upstairs and when I came down I couldn't find Mr P anywhere. He tends to go looking for me if if he can't see me around. After checking the hourse a few times I went outside to look for him and a neighbour said she saw him walking down the road looking down driveways as if he were looking for me.
After rushing up and down the area in panic, I phoned Home Instead. Shortly after one of the CAREGivers, who was on her day off, didn't hesitate to come with her family, phoned the police and started to get things organised because I wasn't in a fit state to think things through. She then drove around looking for him as did a neighbour. The police were incredible, scrambling the police helicopter and found Mr P two hours later sitting on a wall, suffering from hypothermia and had difficulty in breathing because of his asthma and was unable to get home.
Another CAREGiver also came along with my friend and everyone was so incredibly supportive.
I cannot express my internal thanks to the CAREGivers for their quick thinking. I am so glad I chose Home Instead Senior Care who have been amazing in their help since first coming here and I am immensely grateful to everyone.
Thank you very much.
Mr and Mrs PMr & Mrs P
