Caregivers complete their City & Guild Alzheimers diploma

18 more Home Instead CAREGivers are completing their Alzheimer’s and dementia care training diploma, designed by national and international renowned dementia and Alzheimer's experts.

This means our CAREGivers are supported with the latest in Alzheimer's education and home care techniques, to professionally care for the individuals changing needs at home.

CAREGivers are trained to:

            Maintain a safe environment

            Manage changing behaviour

            Provide nutritious meals

            Provide mind-stimulating activities

            Create social interaction

            Supervise daily activities

Here at the Home Instead Altrincham & Sale office we also see first hand how life enhancing restoring simple pleasures can be, such as a walk in the park, a trip out in the car or spending time in the garden.

These care activities are often provided by our CAREGivers as they have the time to connect and focus on the individuals and provide companionship and most importantly maintain the continuity of the relationship.

We appreciate how difficult it is to be faced with these behavioral challenges and not know the best way to recognise the signs, and to then avoid or manage a difficult or challenging situation. As such we can run free workshops for your family you will benefit from our experience of running specialist dementia training for our CAREGivers.(The training Home Instead gives its CAREGivers is fully certified by City & Guilds, and is unique in the UK).The Workshop teaches people to identify the typical signs of dementia, gain a better understanding and learn coping mechanisms to able you to live well with the condition.
