Home Instead receive the Queen’s Award for enterprise

When we started Home Instead, we set out a clear mission to improve the lives of older people by delivering a high standard of relationship-led home care that enables people to live independently at home, fulfilled and supported by devoted CAREGivers.

Providing innovative home care in the UK

In 2016, we were the first home care company to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category in recognition of our unique quality home care. The Queen’s Award is one of the country’s most prestigious business awards. Home Instead’s award is in the Innovation category, made in recognition of our distinguishing home care service where the social wellbeing of our clients is central to our model of companionship-led care.

Care fit for the queen

Lord Lieutenant David Briggs, who is Her Majesty's representative for Cheshire, presented Home Instead with the accolade and said: "The Queen has been so impressed with your single-minded determination to give the elderly what they want – to cherish or dare I say to love and to truly care for them – and for that you are today presented with the award.

"You have also understood that one of the biggest killers is loneliness and so you are not just there to clean or to cook or to change the person being cared for – but they are there as a friend and they spend time talking to and getting to know the client, they develop a relationship and become a friend.

"And it is for that that you have an award for innovation – relationship care – matching the carer to the client and of course making sure that the same carer sees the same client over a long period."
