The York Home Care team, here to help every step of the way

Over 15 years ago, husband-and-wife team Ann-Marie Roche and Luke Norbury established the Home Instead York, Scarborough & Ryedale franchise. Driven by a deep understanding of the growing need for compassionate and reliable home care, they set out to create a trusted service that families across North Yorkshire could depend on. Inspired by their own personal experiences and a strong sense of responsibility, they built a foundation of care rooted in consistency, trust, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right—the same standard of care they would want for their own loved ones. Today, we are proud to hold an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating and to be recognised as the 2023 York Press Socially Responsible Business of the Year.

Why Home Care may be right for you

At Home Instead York, our ethos of “enriching lives, building relationships, and caring for others” ensures exceptional home care for the York community. We offer a minimum of 1-hour visits and carefully match clients with care professionals based on shared interests and experiences. To build trust and strong relationships, we prioritise continuity by providing the same care professionals whenever possible. Our services range from companionship, home help, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care, and dementia support. From hourly visits to live-in care, as well as respite and short-term post-surgery support, we empower people to stay safe and well in the place they cherish most—home.

Home Instead were recommended to us and we have found the care provided by them to be first class. My mum has dementia and all the carers treat her with respect and are very professional. Mum would not have been able to stay in her own home for as long as she has without this support. Many thanks to all the team.

After only a few weeks with us, Debbie has already gone above and beyond in caring for my mother. There is such a high level of concern for mum’s well-being. She has become more like a friend than a paid employee.

Your caregivers are in a class of their own, with their friendliness, initiative and flexibility and together you have given us great peace of mind.
