Client and CAREGiver complete charity walk

Trudie and Alan after the event

Home Instead, Wolverhampton client Alan Jones and his CAREGiver Trudi Mears successfully completed the annual 10K Action Heart Walk for Life last month, raising £80 in the process for a very worthwhile cause.

Action Heart provides a cardiac rehabilitation service that helps people who have suffered from a heart attack, undergone cardiac surgery, or have a cardiac related condition. Coronary Heart Disease is now seen to be the UK's biggest killer and Action Heart is dedicated to the primary and secondary prevention of this condition.

In her capacity as a Home Instead CAREGiver Trudi meets with Alan twice a week, and in the weeks leading up to the event she has been taking him "training" for the event. Trudi said "I think I got more benefit from the training than Alan, who was already as fit as a fiddle. And despite what people think, I didn't do the walk just because my favourite colour is green!"

Both Alan and Trudi are hoping to repeat the feat next year, and raise even more money for this local charity.
