Supporting Dementia Action Week
Dementia Action Week, founded by the Alzheimer's Society, is taking place on 17th-23rd May. As many of our clients are living with dementia, awareness days or weeks are hugely important to us. We help our clients to remain as independent as possible and to live well with dementia in their own homes. We also provide support to our client's friends and families through Dementia Friends sessions which we will be continuing to offer throughout May in support of Dementia Action Week.
To further support Dementia Action Week, we have organised a Dementia Roadshow, providing advice at various locations throughout Leeds and Wetherby. During the week, you can find us at the following locations:
|Monday 17th May||Marks & Spencer, Wetherby|
|Tuesday 18th May||Homebase, Moor Allerton|
|Wednesday 19th May||Horsforth [email protected]|
|Thursday 20th May||Wetherby Town Hall|
|Friday 21st May||Morrisons, Wetherby|
As well as providing information and advice, we will also be joined by other organisations who support older people in their own home. These include:
- Engage Leeds
- Memory Support Workers
- Social prescriber from the local GP surgery
- West Yorkshire Police (providing information on the Herbert Protocol)
- Jordon's Solicitors
These events and all attendees will follow social distancing guidelines.
Please join us to understand more about dementia and how you can help your loved one to live well with dementia.
