We Need You!
On Sunday 19th May, the Cookridge Community Run is taking place and Home Instead Wetherby are not only sponsoring this event but also many of our Key Players and CAREGivers are taking part in the race! There is a 10K run in memory of Gareth Dunn – a local man from North Leeds who had qualified for the Paralympics Team before sadly losing his battle with cancer late last year. The main race takes in a beautiful route around Paul’s Pond and Golden Acre Park, near Bramhope before finishing near the Leeds Modernians Football Club. There is also a 1 mile fun run that is suitable for all ages and abilities, with each participant receiving a medal as they finish.
The main race starts at 9.30am (with the warm up and briefing from 9.15) and the fun run starting ten minutes later. Whether you want to run these races or simply walk, it would be great to have you involved; registration for these events is still open! Full details about these races can be found on the race website.
As a team of mostly non-runners, it would also be great to have your cheer-leading prowess to support the team around the course, from water provider and team motivator to jelly baby monitor, we need you!
We can’t wait to see you running with us or cheering us along the way!
