The Wetherby & North Leeds office of Home Instead was delighted to celebrate the Queen’s Award for Innovation with the other local offices of Home Instead throughout the UK on the occasion of the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The award recognises the pioneering companionship - led approach to providing care at home for older people which includes:
Home care visits that last at least an hour and frequently longer.
A recognition of the value of companionship and trips out as well as practical help with everyday activities such as bathing and meal preparation.
Matching CAREGivers and clients based on common interests and hobbies.
Home Instead co-founders Sam and Trevor Brocklebank brought the Home Instead ethos to the UK when Trevor’s grandfather Frank needed support and they were unable to find what they wanted locally. The set up the pilot office in 2005 and it has now grown to be an instantly recognised network of over 170 offices across the UK.
High quality care is now delivered regularly to over 8,000 people in the UK and the numbers are growing everyday.
Tevor Brocklebank, Chief Executive said: “We are very proud of the difference that Home Instead has made to older people’s lives and their families over the last decade. On behalf of the network, we are honoured to receive the Queen’s Award, the pinnacle of business achievement in the UK. Together we provide five million hours of relationship-led homecare each year. We couldn’t achieve this without the army of dedicated CAREGivers on the ground. This award pays testimony to their devotion to our mission to change the face of ageing in the UK”.
Home Instead always wants to hear from potential new CAREGivers too, people who are inspired by the way it does things and who want to be part of its approach. To find out more contact your local Home Instead office in Wetherby on 01937 220510 or visit our website: www.homeinstead.co.uk/wetherby
