Our first CAREGiver Conference...!

This week we hosted our first ever CAREGiver Conference; a chance to have all our staff, key players and CAREGivers in the same location at the same time – not an easy feat when you have clients to continue to support throughout the day! The conference focused on sharing information about the Wetherby and North Leeds office of Home Instead to all those involved in the business as well as discussing the scale of the business globally. With offices across 12 countries and more than 10,000 people working for Home Instead in the UK alone, our team discovered how they were part of something bigger. Discover what happened at the Conference with our short video.

The company vision and their care mission was discussed, as well as how we are trying to change the face of ageing within the UK. It was a chance for the team to reflect on how the office has grown and developed over the past few years, offering better support and services for both the clients and the CAREGivers involved.  We also discussed the potential future developments within the company and the growing importance of delivering personalised care, helping people to remain in their own home which will become increasingly important in coming years as the population continues to age.

Tom, Sarah and Karen from the National Office team joined us to explain how Home Instead really was a people-centred business, helping our clients receive the best possible care by investing in and training the teams of dedicated CAREGivers and staff. With talks from other Wetherby team members, including the customer journey by our Recruitment Manager, Emma and the training opportunities available through our Learning and Development Manager, Lyndsey as well as the technology that Wetherby investing in, our CAREGivers really understood how we’re truly part of the wider community.

The afternoon also involved many of our dedicated and experienced CAREGivers or key players receiving their service awards for having been with the company for a year, three years and over five years. During group exercises, it was also revealed that there is nearly an amazing 600 years combined experience of working in care or the care sector within the Wetherby office. This is a huge amount of experience that our team have gained in helping others and can pass on to each and every one of our clients.

Well done and thank you to everyone who has been involved in our journey so far – we can’t wait to see where the journey continues to take us in the future.
