On 14th October at Rothwell Parish Hall, Home Instead CAREGiver Emma White and her team of friends set up a fundraising event called ‘Positively Pink Afternoon’ for the charity ‘Jacquis Million’ to raise money for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre at St James Hospital.
The hall was transformed for a pink themed Afternoon Tea with towers of cupcakes, bunting & decorations and home made scones from Jameson’s tea room in Oakwood, all served on traditional China tea sets.
There was wonderful entertainment from vintage style singer Jessica Mae Ivison who sang all the upbeat classics, followed by relaxing piano music from Emma.
The luxury raffle and tombola included theatre tickets, champagne, large hampers and gift vouchers. Several Home Instead clients attended and really enjoyed the afternoon.
Everyone left with a prize as well as a goodie bag of cupcakes to take away.
The event raised £415 which has now been sent to the hospital who are extremely grateful.
Another similar event is planned for February.
