Home Instead Wetherby & North Leeds worked with The Alzheimer’s Society and St James’s Hospital Leeds to promote awareness of dementia in the Leeds community during Dementia Week 2016.

The Wetherby team set up an information and help desk in the patients’ restaurant of St James’s to offer patients and visitors the opportunity to learn more about Dementia and strategies to enable individuals and their families to cope.

Home Instead offers a variety of resources to help family carers to deal with the challenges of Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Our CAREGivers are provided with specialist training programmes to provide the skills needed to deliver high quality relationship led care to those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

We also offer free Alzeimer’s family CAREGiver training to any families needing support while caring for a loved one.

Helping Families Cope is a free guide designed especially for those who are caring for a loved one with dementia and includes advice to help families keep their loved ones engaged and manage their behaviours.
