We are very proud that so many of our CAREGivers and Office Team are so committed to the work they do for Home Instead Watford. This is proven in the fact that many have stayed working for us for many years.
Nearly three quarters of the total number of people we employ have been with us for over a year, nearly half have been here for over 2 years and incredibly we have a number of CAREGivers and the Office Team who have been with us for 5 years or more.
This year we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Home Instead Watford so we wanted to ask some of our long standing staff members what has made them stay so long and what has changed and evolved in the last 10 years.

Hazel has been a CAREGiver at Home Instead since November 2011, almost as long as Home Instead Watford has been going. Alongside caring she became a Field Supervisor until earlier this year when she went back to the role of CAREGiver. When asked what has changed since she first started she said that the training, personal development and support has improved. Also travel times to calls has improved as the company has grown. This is what she had to say about why she has stayed so long, ‘Working with the clients is my passion for staying. I also enjoy the company of the CAREGivers and staff in the office. I love the get togethers and social events too.’

Jody, our Head of Care, first started working at Home Instead Watford in 2010 when the company first launched. She was one of the very first CAREGivers and was with us for 2 years. She then decided to leave to further her career by gaining more qualifications, specifically about understanding and caring for those with living with Dementia. In 2015 the opportunity to return to Home Instead came up and she jumped at the chance and came back as Care Co-ordinator. She has since worked her way up the ladder and is now in the role  of Head of Care. 
When asked why Jody has stayed so long in her job she said ‘I love my job as I have a passion for caring for those who need it. Every day is different and I’m always happy to come to work, it’s never a chore. We are one big happy team with amazing support from Alexis and Peter and everyone is treated as important as each other, otherwise it just wouldn’t work!’
When we asked Jody what has changed at Home Instead in the last 10 years, this is what she had to say; ‘The biggest difference is how the company has grown. When I first started as a CAREGiver in 2010 we were waiting for the phones to ring, desperately hoping to gain more clients. Now our client numbers, our team of CAREGivers and office team is bigger than ever. One thing that hasn’t changed though is the fantastic core values of Home Instead. We only want the best for both the clients and the CAREGivers and we have always made sure our clients and CAREGivers feel important whether they have been with us for 2 weeks or 2 years!’

We feel very lucky to have such loyal and committed people working for us and cannot thank them enough!
