Friday 21st September is World Alzheimer’s Day. To mark the occasion we are delighted to announce a partnership with the biggest secondary school in Hertfordshire, Queens School in Bushey.
Alexis and Peter have been at the school every day this week in their role as Dementia Champions for the Alzheimer’s society. They have run 15 minute assemblies for every year group to launch an initiative to make Queens school dementia friendly. In the next 3 months Alexis and Peter will be going into the school every week to run Dementia Friends information sessions for all pupils and staff creating an amazing 1,700 new dementia friends. This is the first secondary school in Hertfordshire to support Dementia Friends in this way and we are proud that Alexis and Peter are spearheading it.
If you’re interested in getting involved with Dementia Friends or you’d like to attend an information session, we’d love to hear from you.
