Due to Alexis’ recent award win at Home Instead’s annual conference, she was thrilled to have been invited to be part of BBC Three Counties Radio Happy Mondays show with presenter, Nana Akua. The evening show concentrates on good news across the three counties - Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
During the show, they covered topics such as; what it’s like to be a CAREGiver, why Alexis and Peter joined the Home Instead family ten years ago, and their goals for 2020.
In looking for people to work for Home Instead, Alexis said they are always looking for kind and compassionate people and that a background in care is not a requirement, but that having a desire to ‘want to give something back to their community’ is really important.
Alexis also said that they are really looking to ‘expand and get out into the community’ in 2020 and ‘help make Watford become a Dementia Friendly Community.’ They are working alongside the Mayor and other organisations and charities to raise awareness about dementia in Watford.
They also discussed the ‘Going the Extra Mile’ Award Alexis picked up at conference. Alexis received the award following votes from other Home Instead franchisees who valued the help and support she gives to them and for her passion and dedication to changing the face of ageing.
