We are one big family at Home Instead Watford. As Mothers Day is coming up, we wanted to share a beautiful story of a Mother and Daughter duo who are part of our family; Louise and Emma Shepherd.
Louise, one of our superstar CAREGivers was inspired to work in care after a deeply personal experience with her Parents in Law, both of whom live with Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia. She realised very quickly there were many different levels of care and really wasn’t sure where she fit in as a CAREGiver. We then sort of found each other. Upon discovering Home Instead, she instantly found that the ethos of the company resonated with her own perception of care and how she would want her parents to be looked after. (Much like a lot of our best CAREGivers)
During the induction process, we told Louise and our other new recruits about how the business runs including how we are working on bringing technology to our everyday running of the team and how we would implement that. Louise then thought of her daughter, Emma.
Louise went home that afternoon inspired, told Emma and within the hour she had called the office and is now on board the Home Instead train. We’re now super proud to have such a smart individual on the team. As a final year degree student studying Journalism, Emma was looking for work experience. We wanted to give Emma the opportunity to broaden her experiences and be able to build herself a portfolio of work with us. While Louise is out spending time with her clients, Emma is in the office writing stories about our wonderful CAREGivers and updating you all on the website about life as part of Home Instead Watford.
