Home Instead Senior Care Bring Joy Bike Ride

Home Instead Watford co-directors, Alexis and Peter Neighbour will be taking part in a 55 mile cycle from London to Windsor on September 4,to raise money for the Home Instead Bring Joy Foundation.

The Bring Joy foundation was created by the founders of Home Instead UK, Sam and Trevor Brocklebank.  The pair realised a gap in the market for a charity which solely funded improving the life of seniors. The foundation’s unique vision is to bring joy, excitement and happiness back into ageing.

In order to fundraise, the charity is enlisting the help of three of their Home Instead offices to take part in a charity bike ride.  As well as members of the Watford office, Chelsea and Southampton are participating.

Starting at Richmond Green, there are three routes covering 29, 37 and 55 miles. The finish line is in Alexandra Gardens, Windsor.  A total of 13 people including national office and the three franchises are taking part.

The foundation hopes to raise a total of £3000- £4000 minimum which is enough to pay for 50 people to go on a trip to the seaside or a day out in a beautiful location. In the past, Bring Joy has funded afternoon teas, Christmas meals for more than 50 seniors and various daytrips.

Alexis and Peter will be joined by Peter’s adult children, Rob and Emma as well as Emma’s husband, Paul and Rob’s girlfriend, Ashleigh. The team hope to raise £2,000 between them in support of this life changing charity. The money raised will support lonely and isolated seniors in the community by providing activities, trips and a new network of friends, to enhance later life.
