Director - Melissa
Hi, I am Melissa Critchley and have owned Home Instead here in Warrington since January 2012. However, Home Instead has been operating in the Warrington area since June 2007 and we still have the first CAREGiver who was employed by the company working with us and she continues to do a wonderful job. I believe my whole career prior to taking over Home Instead was been leading me to Home Instead. My first job was in Health Promotion and I then had the privilege of working with General Practitioners in St Helens on the new GP Contract and the introduction of the 1990 Health and Community Care Act. It was really exciting working across health, housing, social care and the voluntary sector to develop ways of improving people’s lives especially those who were most vulnerable. Having worked with a lot of voluntary organisations I came to really appreciate the passion and commitment they put into their work and was very fortunate in successfully getting a job as the Chief Officer of a local Age Concern. I worked in Age Concern for over 12 years and loved it, we had some wonderful projects working on creating dementia pathways, befriending services, handyman facilities and in many ways it was very similar to Home Instead, the staff and volunteers were passionate about what they did and gave 110% to all that they did.
I love working with older people and believe strongly in doing all I can to help them remain living independently at home. I am very proud to say that I work with a team who share my passion and in some cases exceed it. Throughout my career I have always believed in partnership working and I try to bring that into the way we work here at Home Instead. Only by working together can we really make a difference to making person centered care a reality for all of our clients and their families.
Field Care Supervisor - Lesley
Hi my name is Lesley Hill and I have delighted to be Field Care Supervisor within Home Instead Warrington and Lymm.
I joined Home Instead just over four years ago after working for several years in a local college teaching beauty and successfully managing a very large hair and beauty department. I felt after years of teaching that I wanted a total change in career and have never looked back since. I joined Home Instead as a CAREGiver and within a year had progressed to become a Senior then moved on to be a Field Supervisor.
I embrace my role with passion and commitment and support clients to remain as independent as possible in their own homes for as long as possible, whilst developing the skills and knowledge of the CAREGivers to deliver fantastic care competently and confidently.
In my spare time away from my job, I really enjoy my garden, reading, walking and pitching a tent in a field, then sit and read my book and enjoy the simple things in life.
Business Development Manager - Helen
Hello, I’m Helen Thomas and joined Home Instead Warrington and Lymm in November 2018.
I have worked in the care industry for over 15 years and have progressed up from a Care Worker to Registered Manager positions. Working in care has taught me to value people and to offer a quality service, which I feel is detailed in Home Instead Senior Care ethos and mission statements.
I am currently working as a Business development Manager and studying an open University Degree in Business Management. This I hope will increase my skills and knowledge of the sector and take on board a different perspective in the ever changing care sector.
I have two dogs that keep me busy and enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy adrenaline sports, motorbiking and travelling.
Pamela - Care Consultant
Hello, My name is Pamela and I joined Home Instead Senior Care in January 2019 as a part time Care Consultant. I decided after 3 years of being a stay at home mum it was time to return to work and back to caring.
My main role is being out in the community, enabling me to meet new clients and develop person centred care plans to support people in their own homes. I love meeting people and working together with them to enable independence at home while helping our elder community to get the best out of their lives and live the way they choose.
I have spent my career working in care, working my way up from a carer to Registered Manager positions. This has given me great satisfaction in my working roles and I believe a better understanding on how people should be treated with dignity and respect, while having my own experience of ensuring communication to CAREGivers is key, to enable care plans to be followed and people’s needs met.
Recruitment and Induction officer - Helen
Hello, my name is Helen and I joined Home instead in December 2017 as a Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. The main part of my role will be to grow our CAREGiver team to support the needs of the growing business. I am passionate about recruiting the right CAREGivers for our wonderful clients and will out about in the community, networking. Please keep a lookout on our website and Facebook page for any events that we be holding in your local area, I will look forward to having the opportunity to meet you.
For the past 14 years I have worked in Human Resources in various organisations, from Health and Social care to Radio. Throughout my career, I have spent a lot of time recruiting, an aspect of my role(s) that I particularly enjoyed and wanted to specialise in.
On a more personal note, I live with my partner and my son and in my spare time I love travel, we are currently working on a self-build campervan, and working our way through a bucket list of places that we keep adding too.
Senior CAREGiver - Leahanne
Hi, I’m Leahanne and I have been with Home Instead for over three years. I started as a CAREGiver and really took to the role. I have been a Senior CAREGiver for just coming up for a year. So now I have the best of both worlds, I love being in the office speaking to people on the phone and supporting staff and I also enjoy getting to know all the lovely clients and CAREGivers we work with out in the field. My approach to life is always positive and I bring that into all areas of my role; having been a CAREGiver I know how it feels and do everything I can to help them be the best CAREGivers they can be. I have been told I am a great person to have around, which is good to hear. I have successfully completed my NVQ Level 2 and have nearly completed my Level 3.
Carrie - Scheduler
Hi, I’m Carrie, I joined home Instead in May 2020 as a CAREGiver and in October I was delighted to join the office team as Scheduler. For the past 15 years I have worked in the leisure industry as Finance administrator. I feel that my previous role has prepared me for this new challenge, as planning and meeting deadlines are key. My new role as Scheduler is very busy, but I enjoy new challenges, and one of those is to make sure our Clients and CAREGivers are the best match, ensuring that all needs are met, it’s rewarding when we have positive feedback .
