The Wakefield Team
Jason Tomlinson, Owner and Director
Hi, I’m Jason and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to Home Instead Wakefield. Having spent almost ten years as a practising pharmacist I have met lots of older people in the community and it has saddened me to see and hear about the poor quality of care available to them. I personally enjoy the company of our senior citizens and learning about their experiences. It’s amazing to see the joy in their faces when you show genuine interest in them, and their past.
I was introduced to Home Instead when they came to visit my place of work. After doing some research and making some enquiries, I realised Home Instead is different from other home care providers. They hold the same values and high personal standards as I aspire to so it wasn’t long before I started to think about joining Home Instead and leaving my career as a pharmacist. I am dedicated to sourcing and employing the best quality CAREGivers so we can provide the best quality care for you.
Outside of Home Instead I enjoy travelling and have visited many countries as a backpacker before getting married. I continue to travel today with my wife and little boy, where we like to mix with local people and experience local food and cultures. I am also a Formula 1 fan and have had the privilege to visit four tracks around the world. We’re here to help with any queries so please feel free to get in touch on (01924 565330)
Kevin Wathey, Care Manager
Hello, I’m Kevin. I am the Care Manager for Home Instead Senior Care in Wakefield.
I have always been interested in helping others and have a caring nature. I have worked in the care sector for 17 years. This has included working directly with clients as well as training staff and developing team members with professional and nationally recognised qualifications.
Since leaving school I have studied Health and Social Care from care level to management level of the health and social care setting.
My Health and Social Care background has taken me from Care Worker to Deputy Home Manager position in my previous posts.
I thoroughly enjoy my job, knowing that I could be making even the smallest change in someone’s life makes my job worthwhile.
My hobbies include walking in the country side and exploring new places. I am very family orientated and spend my spare time supporting a family member who requires care to allow him to remain independent in his own home.
It was a great relief to have help and support we really needed. We always found the carer treated our mother with respect and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.Anne B (Daughter of Client)
