About Us

Welcome to Home Instead, based in the town of Tonbridge (Kent). I am proud to have established the office which covers my home town of Edenbridge and also Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells.

Having lost my dear Grandmother 10 years ago, it became my ambition to provide high quality, compassionate homecare for the elderly, helping them to maintain their independence and truly improve their quality of life.

My fiercely independent Grandmother had a few short spells in hospital during which she suffered from delirium, a state of temporary confusion often associated with older people when taken out of their familiar surroundings. She would recover from this within days of being at home again with some respite care and family support.

After one minor fall at home, my Grandmother was advised to admit herself to a local cottage hospital for a few days rest. It breaks my heart to say that she never came home again. I know if we could have accessed a service like Home Instead my Grandmother could have remained at home being cared for as she wanted and giving us peace of mind.

My Grandmother suffered in spite of our fight for her; many elderly people do not have such support around them. If I can stop one person going through the same experience as my Grandmother and one family keeping their treasured relative for longer, then I will feel I have achieved something worthwhile.

When I decided the time was right for me to realise my ambition, I wanted to provide domiciliary care services I could be proud of and work with people that shared the same ethos and passion as me; that is why I chose Home Instead.

My aim is to be the best, most valued provider of domiciliary care for the elderly, enabling our clients to lead a fulfilling life, being cared for in the way that they deserve. The families of our clients can have peace of mind that their loved ones are looked after as I would want my own Grandmother to have been cared for.

To that end, we carefully recruit and select dedicated caregivers and provide them with thorough training. All of our caregivers are compassionate, respectful and considerate of our clients’ dignity.

In 2017 we were delighted to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

Our services are tailored to the wants and not just needs of our clients, providing them with competent care at home, a friendly companion and trusted support. Whether it’s a trip to the hairdresser, a day out at the races, changing the net curtains or assistance with bathing, our services are provided with enthusiasm and consideration.

We welcome clients, their families or anybody who would like to know more about Home Instead in Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and Edenbridge to call or pop in and say hello!
