Dementia carer award finalist, Becky Sawyer
Dementia carer award finalist, Becky Sawyer

Home Instead Southport are proud to announce that one of our CAREGiver’s has been announced as a finalist in the regional Great British Care Awards, Dementia Carer category.  Becky Sawyer was nominated by Home Instead, due to her hard work and commitment with her clients, in particular one whom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.  She has really made a difference to this client and has really thought about and adapted what she does, providing truly person centred care that makes sense to this client. Becky was one of the first CAREGiver’s to complete Home Instead’s City and Guild’s accredited training programme for dementia care:  She firmly believes that education is the key to successfully supporting someone with dementia. Becky attended an interview with the judging panel in Manchester on 18th September and she will be attending the awards dinner In Manchester on 11th October, where the results will be announced.  We wish Becky lots of luck on the night, but in our eyes she is already a winner!
