Christmas Events & Activities 2018

Christmas is a busy time of year, but also a time for those living alone to feel isolated and vulnerable. For Christmas 2018 we wanted to reach more people and share the Christmas spirit through several fun festivities.

# Spread the Joy
We partnered with Hodge Halsall Solicitors and Queens Court Hospice for a first-time event which invited lonely and isolated individuals to a festive afternoon tea, all fully funded by local businesses in the area. The day was a huge success and the room was lit up with smiles, especially when Christmas carols were performed by the children from local schools. Santa also stopped by to wish everyone a Merry Christmas with a little gift and music from a live brass band.

Veterans Christmas lunch
We joined veterans from across Sefton to enjoy a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, kindly donated by Total Produce Wholesale, local farmers and businesses. Whilst attendees enjoyed the heart-warming food, veteran band “The Sailor Boy Ukulele Mob” performed a few sing-along tunes to lift people’s spirits.

Dave Smith, Head of Veterans in Sefton, thanked volunteers from Sefton CVS lunch club who spent hours preparing, cooking and serving the hot lunches on the day. He went on to thank the organisers for their hard work and commitment.

Elfie Selfie Competition
To share some office spirit, we ran an ‘Elfie Selfie’ competition which involved CAREGivers and staff taking their most creative, fun filled Christmas pictures which resonated the festive feel. We received lots of entries, and one lucky CAREGiver was thrilled to win with her festive picture.
