Home Instead Southend would like to send their congratulations to Jackie Rutterford of the Norwich office after winning the ‘Dementia Carer’ award at last weeks national heat of this year’s Great British Home Care Awards.

The ‘Dementia Carer award is presented to an individual who’s able to demonstrate the specific skills needed to manage and deliver services that are sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia. Home Instead are the fifth largest care providers in the UK and offer home care specialising in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Lee from Home Instead Southend completed the Train the Trainer Programme to deliver our in-house City & Guilds Alzheimer’s and dementia care programme to all our CAREGivers. Three of our CAREGivers have recently finished their training and are now themselves City & Guild’s accredited CAREGivers in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Another four of our CAREGivers have recently started their own specialist training that they hope to complete within the next two months.
