Angela- Field Support
My Journey with Home Instead started recently in December 2019, my care journey started seven years ago.I found that I really enjoyed supporting Clients who needed help with daily living tasks and enjoyed listening to their stories. Through the years I went on and gained valuable experience as a Senior Carer with in a residential home and enjoyed all aspects of this role.
When I found the opportunity to work for Home instead I was very excited to apply, as I like what Home Instead stand for and the holistic approach towards high quality care for seniors in our community.
In my spare time you will find me walking my dog, spending time with family and friends. I enjoy art, particularly drawing portraits, painting and a little DIY.
Colette - Field Support
I have been working for Home Instead for just over four years, mainly as a CAREGiver, but also as part of the on-call team and, for the last two years, supporting in the office.
Before joining Home Instead I worked as a typist for 15 years, 6 of those self-employed working from home. I volunteered as a first responder with the ambulance service and through attending emergency visits with paramedics, I realised just how much I enjoyed spending time with the elderly, listening to their stories of times gone by, so I applied to, and started working for, Home Instead on a part time basis alongside my self-employed business and found I loved the work. I started my Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care earlier this year and when the position of Field Support became available, I felt it would be the perfect opportunity to not only continue to care for our clients, but also to support other CAREGivers.
The reason I wanted to further my career and stay with Home Instead is because I feel Home Instead offers an outstanding service to our clients and the health and wellbeing of both our clients and CAREGivers is very important to the company.
In my spare time I enjoy cycling, swimming and following Tottenham Hotspur, visiting my two sons, as well as DIY and caring for my troop of moggies.
I have been working for Home Instead Southend for the last three years as the Care Coordinator. My roles entails Scheduling calls for our CAREGivers, Liasing over the phone with Clients, CAREGivers, professionals and family members. Ensuring that all our Clients are accomidated for accordingly.
I have worked in the care industry for over 10 years, and during this time I have been in various roles.I began my care career as a carer to make a difference to the lives of the local people, I then proceeded to working in the office dealing with the other side of things. Including scheduling care calls and insuring clients receive a top service.
Since joining the Home Instead Southend team I have found them to be a friendly and committed team. Our goal as a team is to provide a tailored made service to all our clients to ensure their needs are met to the full.
I myself enjoy traveling to new places and learning the history of the places I have had the pleasure to visit. Spending time with my family and friends, going to the theatre to watch a good show. I enjoy decorating, and get much pleasure out of changing/updating the rooms in my house.
I am a mum of 4 children, 3 boys, 1 girl and of recent 2 beautiful grand-daughters.
Kayleigh - Business Administrator
I began my Home Instead journey as a CAREGiver supporting many wonderful people in our local community back in 2017. Last year an opportunity for Business administrator came up and following being selected for the role, I am a year in and thoroughly enjoy it, my role gives me a lovely variety. A large part of my role is in recruitment this allows me to meet with a range of people whom are interested in joining us here at Home Instead, I love this part of the role as it gives me opportunity to tell more people about the wonderful things we do here and to give someone the opportunity to become a CAREGiver and reap the rewards in enhancing the lives of people in our community.
I am passionate about finding CAREGivers who share the Home Instead ethos and who are compassionate to our client’s individual needs.
When I’m not working you would find me spending time with my partner, two young girls and our dog Betty.
Becky - Recruitment & Retention Manager
I have been working with Home Instead Senior Care Southend since April 2014. Starting as a part-time CAREGiver working within the community and evolving from office admin to recruitment before finding my calling as Training Manager.
With Niven’s investment I have gained qualifications in Health and Social Care, Training and Education, Medication, Moving and Positioning, Basic Life Support, City and Guilds Dementia and End of Life. I am always looking for ways to develop my skills and am really grateful for the opportunities available to me working at Home Instead.
Passionate about training, education, standards and compliance I really enjoy working for a company with such a strong brand, sense of ethics and that truly values their employee’s. Working at Home Instead I can take pride in my work and love nothing more than to see our clients smile. The outstanding team at Home Instead are so welcoming and we really do look after each other.
My previous roles have included customer service, telecommunications and working at a school. After studying social work and learning about care in our community, I can honestly say no job has been more rewarding. I live with my partner Barry, I have 2 sons and a King Charles Spaniel called Toby. I enjoy camping, music festivals and you will often find me ‘rocking out’ to a live band at a local venue.
Hi, I’m Shalinee Ramalingum and the newest member of the team joining as the Office Manager. Prior to joining Home Instead Senior Care I worked in the investment banking industry for 16 years in the compliance department.
After the birth of my two children I felt like I was missing out on precious family time and wanted to combine motherhood with work. I was ready to be a part of something positive and feel proud when going to work.
Although I have never worked in the care industry, both my parents were nurses working in the NHS and some of my extended family are carers. I have seen first hand how important it is to have good care in the community and I want to be a part of making that difference.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Niven - Franchise Owner
Hello I am Niven, owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Southend-On-Sea.
As a child I was fascinated by cars, I worked in the motor industry for 18 years, working my way from the workshop floor to being part of the management team. Although I enjoyed working with cars, I want to make a difference to people lives, and be proud to be part of that difference.
After the birth of my daughter, my wife and I decided to leave London and move to Essex and we have not looked back since! We wanted to start a family business and looked at several different opportunities. Our ageing population is growing and spending longer periods of time at home, we felt that we could improve the quality of home care by providing a companion based service.
I am inspired by my family. My mum works in a residential environment supporting clients with varying needs and my father and aunt cared for my grandparents for many years with many different challenges. They have all shown me how important it is to care for our elders and how much they still have to offer us all.
I love spending time with my family, fixing things and playing five-a-side football with friends.
The last year has been thoroughly enjoyable and I have met a number of fantastic people in the Southend-On-Sea area and together we are really starting to make a difference.
