Meet the team

Care Operations Administrator

Hello, my name is Kendyl Binnie and I have recently joined the team as the business administration apprentice. I will be working closely alongside Jane with scheduling. I am 20 years old and have a passion for the care industry. Prior to Home Instead, I have worked in retail, warehouses and customer services. I have found my passion for work at Home Instead and look forward to progressing in the company.

Home Instead have welcomed me with open arms and the team are very caring for everything they do. It is a friendly environment which builds up my passion for coming to work. I look forward to getting to know the clients and CAREGivers personally over the next few months.

I enjoy travelling to new places, spending precious time with friends and family as well. I get lots of pleasure from being creative, gardening and baking which I am found to do in my spare time as much as possible.

Shalinee Ramalingum Director

Office Manager

Hi, I’m Shalinee Ramalingum and the newest member of the team joining as the Office Manager. Prior to joining Home Instead Senior Care I worked in the investment banking industry for 16 years in the compliance department.

After the birth of my two children I felt like I was missing out on precious family time and wanted to combine motherhood with work. I was ready to be a part of something positive and feel proud when going to work.

Although I have never worked in the care industry, both my parents were nurses working in the NHS and some of my extended family are carers. I have seen first hand how important it is to have good care in the community and I want to be a part of making that difference.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Jane Shipley Care Coordinator

Care Coordinator

Hi My name is Jane Shipley and I have just joined the Home Instead team as care coordinator. I am mum of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.

I have worked in the care industry for over 7 years, and during this time I have been in various roles.I began my care career as a carer to make a difference to the lives of the local people, I then proceeded to working in the office dealing with the other side of things. Including scheduling care calls and insuring clients receive a top service.

Since joining the Home Instead Southend team I have found them to be a friendly and committed team. Our goal as a team is to provide a tailored made service to all our clients to ensure their needs are meet to the full.

I myself enjoy traveling to new places and learning the history of the places I have had the pleasure to visit. Spending time with my family and friends, going to the theatre to watch a good show.  I enjoy decorating, and get much pleasure out of changing/updating the rooms in my house.

Field Support

Hi, I am Sarah I am the Senior CAREGiver at Home Instead Southend.

I have worked for Home Instead for nearly 3 years. I started as a CAREGiver and after a year progressed to a senior role. I have enjoyed developing my skills within a new company.

Prior to working for Home Instead I carried out various roles including domestic and retail work. Which have given me valuable experience

I cared for my mother for a year which gave me the motivation to continue caring for others. I enjoy making a difference to people’s lives.

I have a son who is eleven. Who is going to start senior school soon, I can’t believe how quick time flies.

I enjoy spending time with my family, we are very close knit. I also enjoy socialising with my friends.

Rebecca Ruler Training and Retention

Training and Retention

Hi, I'm Becky, 32 and I have been working with Home Instead Senior Care for over a year .

I really enjoy being a CAREGiver and love the ethic and standard that the company work to; I can take pride in my work and love nothing more than to see my clients smile.

My previous jobs have included customer service, telecommunications and more recently working with children, but I wanted a career in which I felt fulfilled.

After studying social work and learning about care in our community, I can honestly say no job has been more rewarding.

As a mother of two boys I have learned patience and understanding (lots of it) and I am now looking forward to expanding my role within the company.

The team at Home Instead were so welcoming and I have felt right at home. My clients mean the world to me and whether I’m taking them out shopping, making dinner or just chatting over a cup of tea you can be sure we’ll be laughing all the way.

Niven Ramalingum Director Owner

Franchise Owner

Hello I am Niven, owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Southend-On-Sea.

As a child I was fascinated by cars, I worked in the motor industry for 18 years, working my way from the workshop floor to being part of the management team. Although I enjoyed working with cars, I want to make a difference to people lives, and be proud to be part of that difference.

After the birth of my daughter, my wife and I decided to leave London and move to Essex and we have not looked back since! We wanted to start a family business and looked at several different opportunities. Our ageing population is growing and spending longer periods of time at home, we felt that we could improve the quality of home care by providing a companion based service.

I am inspired by my family. My mum works in a residential environment supporting clients with varying needs and my father and aunt cared for my grandparents for many years with many different challenges. They have all shown me how important it is to care for our elders and how much they still have to offer us all.

I love spending time with my family, fixing things and playing five-a-side football with friends.

The last year has been thoroughly enjoyable and I have met a number of fantastic people in the Southend-On-Sea area and together we are really starting to make a difference.
