Deborah, Salmah, Nikky and Gilda welcome to Home Instead!
Good care only happens when you have all the right ingredients, like enough time - the reason we have a one hour minimum for all our calls. But the most important ingredient of all is a good CAREGiver. That’s why we reject many more applicants than we select – twenty five times as many in fact. More than a hundred people responded to our most recent job ad but only four had the personality, compassion and diligence needed to look after our Clients the Home Instead way.
So we'd like to welcome Deborah, Salmah, Nikky and Gilda to Home Instead!
A Different Kind of Training
You need a good heart to be a Home Instead CAREGiver, but on its own that’s not enough. We still insist that every new starter, whether they’ve got years of experience or none at all, attends our three day training programme. Susie, who ran last week’s course, was a Registered Care Manager with several other companies before joining Home Instead and so knows just how different our training is...
“It’s focuses on making you understand the challenges we’ll all face as we get older. Having a better idea of what our clients are experiencing every day gives our CAREGivers an essential insight into what good care really means.”
And it definitely works. Just a couple of days after finishing her training Nikky was already putting what she’d learned into practice.
“Common sense and wanting to do the best for your Client are a big part of good care but they’re not everything. The training I got from Home Instead covered all the rest. It was great. I felt really confident, even on my first Care Visit.”
We’ve already got our next Training Course booked so if you think you’ve got the right stuff and would like to make a difference in our community then give Susie a call on 0161 884 0562 or drop her a line at [email protected]
