Knitting the Community Together
Twiddle Muffs
Twiddle Muffs

Believe it or not, it was recently “World Knitting in Public Day”.

Well, rather than just wonder who it is that comes up with these things, we decided to use the day to see if we could encourage locals to knit Twiddle Muffs for people living with dementia in our South Manchester Community.

Having been kindly offered a stall at Chorlton Market, Alison used it to tell people about twiddle muffs, the new Chorlton and Whalley Range Dementia Action Group and to promote our upcoming community event.

She had tons of support. Some of the brilliant “Nutty Knitters” from Arden court came along to donate some twiddle muffs they’d made and Danielle, from the Make It Shop in Chorlton, really got behind the cause. She donated a load of twiddle muff patterns for Alison to give away to interested members of the public as well to people visiting her shop on the day.

Thanks to everyone involved and keeps those needles twitching!
