Alison Broadhurst - Owner/Director

Before opening Home Instead South Manchester/ North Trafford, Alison was a Senior Director for some of the biggest names in British retail. She learnt an enormous amount working with some very talented people, including the crucial importance of outstanding customer care and what it takes to lead a team that can deliver it consistently.

After a successful career in business, Alison was looking for a change of direction – an opportunity to use her energy, skills and experience to make a difference to people’s lives, to give something back to the local community. When she came across Home Instead she knew she’d found the perfect partner. She found their commitment to changing the face of ageing inspiring and now works hard every day to make that commitment a reality.

Away from work, Alison enjoys reading, spending time with her family, including cats Lyra and Juno, and learning to play the piano.

Gaynor Registered Care Manager

Gaynor Dwyer - Registered Care Manager

Gaynor has spent more than 18 years working in care and healthcare, some at a senior level, during which she’s developed the great skill set that she now brings to her role as our Care Manager. This wide and valuable experience, including both community and hospital healthcare and the charitable sector, has all contributed to the way she goes about her job…

“I’m passionate about continually improving the service we offer. I know just how vital it is to listen to our clients, so they can have the final say on their care.”

Away from work, Gaynor loves family life (she has 3 children and is looking forward to her first grandchild next year). She likes socialising and adores her dog ‘Skye’, who she is often found walking around her local area of Urmston.

Gaynor is delighted to be part of the Home Instead family…

Emma Care  Co-ordinator

Emma Pimbley - Care Co-ordinator.

Emma is one of our two Care Co-ordinators which means she’s at the heart of making sure we’re doing a great of job of looking after both our Clients and our CAREGivers. She’s had a number of roles with us which means she knows exactly what it takes to makes sure this happens consistently, whatever the challenges of the day-to-day.

Even more importantly she’s absolutely committed to providing the very best kind of care, as she says

“The kind of care you’d want for yourself or for a member of your family”.

Outside work, Emma’s number one priority is again care, this time looking after her two children, Jake and Leah, whose after school activities include badminton, fitness, tap dancing and musical theatre. The rest of her family are also really important to Emma and she loves spending time with her parents and grandparents.

Michele Care Co-ordinator

Michele Menns - Care Co-ordinator

Michele is one of our Care Co-ordinators, she brings a lifetime of experience of caring for others to her role. She is passionate about ensuring that clients receive the very best care, and that Caregivers receive the support they need to do a great job.

Michele loves to walk and be outside in the fresh air , and when she is not working she also loves to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Michele says " I just want to make sure that my clients get the care they deserve , and are always treated with kindness, dignity and respect".

Peggy Office Admin

Peggy Renaudon – Receptionist and Office Administrator

Peggy is our Receptionist, dealing with calls from Clients, their families as well as our super CAREGivers. She’s also our Office Admin, doing a variety of tasks to make sure everything is running smoothy. She loves her job “because I work with a fab team who all work their socks off to make a difference.”

She chose Care as a career as she has seen first-hand the difference good care can make to people’s lives as several members of her family are living with Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. For Peggy, care work is one of the most important skills in our society.

Before joining home Instead Peggy worked as a Chiropractic assistant and office manager, a role she also enjoyed because of her interest in health and wellness and because she learnt a lot about holistic health and preventative lifestyles.

Peggy follows this interest outside of work too. She’s practised Yoga and meditation many years and has now completed my Yoga Teacher training which she puts into practice running classes in the community. She also loves hiking, nature and the beautiful outdoors.

Jenny Scheduler

Jenny Dutton - Schedule Co-ordinator

Jenny is our Scheduler – and also runs part of our CAREGiver Pre Employment Assessment – an entirely different kind of task but something she’s just as good at. Her ten years of experience in senior care means she is well equipped for both parts of her job.

Jenny’s a real local – having been born and raised in Chorlton, though she did move out of the area a couple of years ago. She’s married and has three young daughters, Emily, Holly and Sophie. When she returned to work recently she knew she wanted to go back into caring for older people…

“I’ve always loved listening to the stories my clients tell me, not just because it’s great to hear about times that were very different to todeay but because I really feel you can learn a lot from them.”

She’s also right on board with the Home Instead philosophy…

“It’s always seemed to me that the kind of care we provide is more like a friendship than a job”.


Ted Hart - Owner/ Business Director

Ted is Alison’s partner and works with her running Home Instead South Manchester/North Trafford.

Ted’s background is in marketing. Having spent years producing ads for some of the biggest brands on the high street, he knows the key to success for any organisation is a deep understanding of its clients as individual people. This knowledge is the essential first step to understanding what it is they want and to delivering it consistently.

His role in the organisation is to make sure all the boring but important background stuff is taken care of so Alison, Gaynor and the rest of the team can concentrate on delivering the best possible care and service to our clients.

In his spare time Ted enjoys writing and hoping that the New York Mets might win the occassional game of baseball.
