Alan Barr - Owner
Hi I am Alan, I have spent the last 20 years working in the world of finance for various corporate entities, ranging from the manufacture of large dump trucks to selling washing machines in the care sector and in between these two ventures I helped run the second largest Ports group in the UK and was also Managing Director of Glasgow Airport for a while.
Due to a change in personal circumstances and also being touched by the experience of my late mother’s dementia, I decided to set up Home Instead Senior Care South Lanarkshire. I am now lucky enough to be running my own business that will make a difference to people’s lives in my home town and across the South Lanarkshire region. I am also lucky enough to have my oldest son Alistair and my daughter Sophie helping and hopefully together we can help change the face of ageing in South Lanarkshire.
Hi I'm Jackie and I'm the Operations Manager at Home Instead South Lanarkshire.
I am responsible for all internal operational functions within the business, including compliance, HR, recruitment, training, staff development to name but a few. I have worked in operations and compliance for over 15 years within the Health and Social care environment and I am now making sure that Home Instead operate at the very high standards that we have set and that our clients expect from us.
Catherine Rea - Care Manager
Hi, I am Cath Rea and I am the Care Manager at Home Instead South Lanarkshire.
I have worked in the Care Sector for nearly 30 years in various positions both in the community and in care homes. I joined Home Instead in July 2018 as I had heard about this local company providing a different type and quality of care in South Lanarkshire and thought “I want to work there” and I am.
It’s my job to work with our CAREGivers to make sure we deliver first class quality care to all our clients in their own homes. It is honestly a pleasure knowing that I am helping our clients continue to live in the comfort of their own home's, in a safe and familiar environment and it’s all made possible through the support of our fantastic CAREGivers.
Julia - Field Supervisor
Hi I'm Julia and I work out in the field with Cath and Lindsay supporting all our clients and CAREGiver's. We want to make sure that all of our CAREGiver's, old and new, feel supported when doing their jobs which helps them deliver the excellent levels of care we expect at Home Instead. I have worked in care for over 25 years and with my experience and nursing background I hope I can give all our clients and CARGEGiver's the level of support they need.
Lindsay - Field Supervisor
Hi I'm Lindsay and I work with Julia and Cath in a field support role.
I love my job and the verity it brings day to day. I get to meet different clients every day when I am out and about carrying out my staff supervisions and client quality checks. I am always there when our CAREGivers need help with anything and they know just to call me.
Ger - Scheduler
Hi I'm Ger (short for Geraldine but everyone calls me Ger), and I am the scheduler at Home Instead South Lanarkshire. I have the responsibility to make sure all the visits that our clients are expecting have a CAREGiver allocated to them.
At Home Instead we try our hardest to send the same CAREGiver/s to the same client/s at every visit, so as there is continuity which in turn results in a better quality of care being delivered. I work closely with Cath and all the CAREGiver's to try and ensure that I keep everybody happy. Happy CAREGiver's helps with happy clients!!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, and I really enjoy going to the gym.
Sophie Barr - Care Admin. Assistant
Hi I am Sophie and I work part-time at Home Instead South Lanarkshire along with my brother and dad.
In my spare time I like shopping, going to the gym and out for walks with Jack my Labrador. I also help my dad around the house and looking after my brothers.
At Home Instead I help out with all the administration duties in the office and support the rest of the team in their busy days.
Alistair Barr - Part Time Finance
Hi, I am Alistair and I helped my dad set up the Home Instead South Lanarkshire business from day one.
I am now at University studying accountancy however I continue to support my dad in the business on a part-time basis with the financial accounts and analysis and anything else he needs me to do.
When I am not working or studying I enjoy going out with my friends, listening to music and playing my guitar.
Jack - The Office Dog
Woof, I am Jack and as you may have noticed I am a yellow Labrador.
After a rigorous selection process and a difficult PVG disclosure process I am now a proud employee of Home Instead South Lanarkshire.
I work part-time in the business generally making a nuisance of myself and getting loads of attention because I am gorgeous!!
I am available if anyone would like to take me for walks. I also do personal appearances and photographs for a small fee and hourly rate is 10 Gravy Bones or 2 chews.
When I am not working I love running around the garden or on cold winter night lying by the fire.
