Welcome to our new Care Manager!
I joined Home Instead Senior Care as the new Care Manager in April 2019. My journey in care began way back when I was 17 and has covered all ages from tiny pre term babies to those who have received several telegrams from the Queen. After having a family of my own I decided that I wanted a new challenge that also fitted with my three children, I joined social services in 1999 supporting adults both in the community teams and within the local hospital team. In 2012 I decided that with government cuts and the uncertainty that social care was facing it was no longer the job I had loved and could not continue there. I began the task of finding the right position for me not wanting just a job but a vocation and still loving working with adults I found that perfect fit. I began working for a large not for profit care company who my work with the local authorities had crossed paths with many times. I’ve spent the last 7 years in the management team working across 5 of the homes who delivered care for adults with a learning disability, dementia care and end of life care.
I enjoy pushing myself to be the best and love learning new things I’m currently studying a degree in law alongside my level 6 in Health and social care management. Out of work I’m a huge rugby fan supporting Newport Dragons and my country Wales and will often be cheering on Wales at the Principality stadium with my girls. I have been a Brownie and Guide leader for 7 years and enjoyed developing and encouraging them to try new things. I like to support charities and have done many fundraisers. I’m looking forward to the future here at Home Instead senior care.
