Luke Norbury becomes trustee of national charity

Managing Director of Home Instead Scarborough & Ryedale, Luke Norbury, has joined the board of trustees of a national charity,  The Home Instead Bring Joy Foundation, which was founded to bring joy into the lives of older people across the UK.

Luke became a trustee at the charity earlier this month. Luke comments: “Our aim at Home Instead is to enable older people to continue living in their own homes, improving quality of life for them and their families.”

The Bring Joy Foundation is the charitable arm of home care company, Home Instead whose mission is ‘to become the most admired care company through changing the face of ageing’. The charity is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of older people across the UK. It does this by funding local community events that improve and enrich the lives of older people with a focus on combating loneliness and preventing isolation; both of which are real issues amongst the elderly.

Luke adds: “My hope is to set a positive example of how the public and private sector can come together.  At the Bring Joy Foundation we want to put some fun and adventure back into the lives of older people and reduce the loneliness that many sadly experience.”

The Bring Joy Foundation has supported trips to the seaside, provided funding to support regular tea parties and during lockdown has funded the purchase of tablet technology to allow older people to remain connected with family and friends.
