What’s on where

There’s lots happening in Salisbury and Romsey for older members of our community.

If you’re looking for activities or events for an older loved one, the good news is that there’s no shortage of choices! We’ve picked out a few highlights to share with you – regular events as well as some special events that are coming up in May and June. They include events specifically run for older adults as well as events designed for everyone.

Wiltshire Creative run a fortnightly term-time group for older people interested in the arts. Find out more here.

For those who are more interested in keeping fit, Walking Football for over 50s is a great way to stay active and meet new people. Details here.

Of course we’ve got to mention our monthly dementia-friendly cinema events in Salisbury as well as our Romsey singing group! It’s always a pleasure to welcome new faces at both of these events.

King John’s House and Museum in Romsey are planning what looks to be a fascinating “Day in the Life of Georgian Romsey” on 4 May with events for the whole family.

Back in Salisbury, People in the Park are hosting a fun day for all the whole family on 18 May. Find out more here. Let’s hope the weather’s good!

There is also a Living Well with Dementia day at Salisbury Guildhall on 21 May, with information and interactive events for anyone who lives with dementia or supports someone who does, as well as anyone who’d like to find out more.

Salisbury will also be abuzz with The Salisbury International Arts Festival, which runs from 26 May – 9 June. With music, comedy, theatre, and more, there is something for everyone so do take a look at the programme.

We hope that this gives you a few ideas for things to do over the coming months. You’ll find many more suggestions on Silver Salisbury’s website, so do take a look there too.
