Helen Brown. Franchise Owner and Registered Manager
My own Mum was thankfully in receipt of really good care in the later stages of her life. I was able to see first-hand just the transformation it had on her wellbeing, despite her being so desperately unwell. I know that the sad reality is that many are not as fortunate, and I have set out to make it my mission that no one needlessly endures poor quality care.
Recognising potential was what drove me within my previous career as a primary school teacher and is what drives me now. Whether a person is 8 or 88 does not negate the fact that they all have hopes, dreams and aspirations. My task is to find out what these are and ensure that these goals are met and exceeded with dignity and care.
I am fortunate to have been intrinsically involved with the wider Home Instead family now for several years as either owner and/or manager of two previous offices. I can honestly say that without fail I have yet to meet someone in Home Instead that does not feel passionately about what we do. It really is who we are. Whilst with my previous offices we were inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and rated as Outstanding, an achievement given to only 3% of providers. To achieve this twice in two different territories is an achievement I am very proud of and I intend to ensure that Home Instead Portsmouth follows suit as befits the people of the Portsmouth area.
I am the proud mum of 3, tall, talented, handsome sons: The Adventurer, The Musician, and The Artist. AKA Sam, Josh and Zac. In my spare time I like to dance and sing. Not necessarily all at the same time, but it has been known! I also enjoy a daily walk by the sea looking across at this fine city we serve.
Dave Chase. Care Manager.
Hello, I’m Dave. I joined Home Instead Portsmouth as a Care Manager (June 2021). I have worked in the care industry for more than 25 years, during which time I have worked in in various roles: from Support Worker, Trainer, Regional Manager, Registered Manager to Care Company owner. I have loved my care journey and the variety of the different roles I have undertaken. As a company owner and Registered Manager, I supported Adults with Learning Disabilities on the Autistic Spectrum.
I have gained many qualifications on my journey including Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care- Adults Residential Management and PROACT-SCIPr UK instructor.
I consider myself very fortunate to have worked with such inspiring people who have shared their knowledge to support my development over the course of my career. My drive and passion are to provide quality care which is why I am delighted to join the Home Instead family as their ethos and values reflect my own.
My journey into care as a Support Worker began due to an unforeseen personal experience which unknowingly at the time positively changed my career aspirations.
When not at work I love spending time with my children, I enjoy most sports including football and golf. I also have a passion for travel including holidays and city breaks learning about all the cultures.
