Local lady, Sarah Watts, has been nominated for a national award for her outstanding services to the care sector.
As a caregiver for Truro at-home care company Home Instead, Sarah consistently goes above and beyond to deliver an outstanding service to all her clients. As a result Sarah is one of only ten finalists for Home Instead’s national competition and is now a contender for the prestigious title of ‘Caregiver of the Year’.
Sarah is in her mid 40s and is a single mum from Falmouth. She has only been working with the team for just over a year and was put forward for the award by Truro’s care manager Allison Brown. In nominating Sarah, Allison said: “When Sarah came for her first interview with us, she was desperate to become a caregiver and was clearly passionate about for helping others. She has progressed so much in just 12 months and is now a confident, competent and passionate caregiver who consistently goes above and beyond to help her clients.”
She continued: “Sarah made such a strong connection with her first client, that when he died she was deeply moved to be greeted with open arms and words of thanks from family members at his funeral. Despite being profoundly affected and saddened by this loss, Sarah has continued to develop and has progressed at a truly rapid rate; completing her NVQ level 2 in just 3 months. Sarah is not only a wonderful addition to the team, but she has flourished into a truly inspirational caregiver. ”
Home Instead now has over 80 offices across the UK and all offices were invited to nominate a caregiver for the prestigious award. The company’s national head office has interviewed each of the 10 finalists and the winner will be announced at the organisation’s national conference which is to take place in September.
