As we all know personal hygiene is extremely important to prevent the spread of bacteria and infection and this week CAREGivers new to Home Instead will undergo training and demonstrations in hand washing techniques as part of our CAREGiver Orientation Programme.
Here are the hands of Lesley our Trainer/Assessor demonstrating to our new CAREGivers the bacteria that is left behind on hands due to poor hand washing techniques. Lesley uses a special lotion which clings to the bacteria on her hands left after washing. When Lesley's hands are placed under a special UV lamp the bacteria left on her hands is clearly visible.
To make sure that our CAREGivers have safe hands they receive training in the eleven-step hand-washing technique to help prevent the spread of bacteria and infection.
