Fitness Challenge raises money for Douglas Macmillan Hospice

We recently sponsored a Fitness Challenge between two local gyms, Kore Fitness in Newcastle-under-Lyme and The Colosseum, in Stoke-on-Trent.

Monies raised from the fitness event were donated to Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

The 2 gyms designed a really tough preliminary circuit to test strength, speed, technique and stamina, which their members completed prior to the main event to determine who would compete in the fitness challenge. The 6 best results from each gym made the final team.

We were delighted to sponsor such a great event for a wonderful cause. The event was held at the Newcastle Staffs Rugby Union Football Club in the warm sunshine.

The 12 competitors completed the same circuit they had done in the preliminary time trials, but they did it as a relay. While there was a winning team, each competitor was timed individually to identify the winner of each category (men, women, over 40’s men, over 40s women). Well done to everyone who took part in the fitness challenge!

This muscle burning challenge was judged by 2 volunteers from the RAF.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s challenge!
