Dementia Action Week #DAW2019

To celebrate the launch of Dementia Action Week it’s important that we #CareAboutDementia and understand how to engage with people with dementia because it affects so many – 225,000 people will develop dementia this year alone –one every three seconds.

To celebrate the launch of our activities we chose to take a Sunday morning stroll along the tow path of the Trent and Mersey Canal.  After having coffee at the Toby Carvery in Trentham we headed along the path to Barlaston, passing the well-known landmark of Wedgwood, waiving to people on their boats and stopping to watch a heron, two families of swans and lots of ducks!

We were joined by CAREGivers, Clients, family, friends and dogs and had plenty of time for a chat during our leisurely stroll before more welcome refreshments at the Plume of Feathers in Barlaston.  The whole event was a real boost to our well-being!

This week, during our #CareAboutDementia week we will be sharing tips and guidance for CAREGivers, family members and for those who live with it.   For more information visit
